Sturt's Steps: 1100kms in the heart of NSW Corner Country
From Broken Hill through Milparinka, Tibooburra and Cameron Corner, a new art trail is set to follow in the footsteps of Captain Charles Sturt.
AW Signs were very excited to have been selected by NSW Public Works Advisory in partnership with NSW National Parks and Wildlife, Milparinka Heritage & Tourism Association and Barnson to build a series of interactive installations right through the heart of far North Western NSW. Spanning more than 1,100kms of sealed and unsealed roads, Sturt’s Steps Touring Route passes through the traditional lands of the Malyangapa and Wadikali people.
This project comprised of 10 interpretation shelters and 18 information posts, brought to life by our experienced team. As well as the creation of the structures, we provided all of the informational signage to be installed into the shelters and posts.
With one of the toughest environments on the planet, our design team provided ‘fit for purpose’ solutions that could handle the extreme environmental conditions of the region.
The story of Charles Sturt’s adventures will be told throughout the region on all of these installations and will provide increased awareness and tourism to one of NSW’s most fascinating and remote regions.
