Central Courtyard: Macquarie University’s new 'Town Square'
Another fantastic project delivered for one of Australia’s best Universities, where pioneering minds thrive and conventions are challenged.
The Macquarie University Courtyard precinct is a thriving hub of activity and the centre of life on campus. Built by FDC Constructions in conjunction with award winning design studio Architectus, the completed precinct has been designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Building Council of Australia rating.
Made up of 68,000m2 of the campus including the Central Courtyard and 4 surrounding buildings the project included integrated flat panel digital screens, room and floor identification, overhead directories, wayfinding, statutory, safety, hearing loop, traffic and building identification.
The redevelopment of the Central Courtyard was Macquarie Universities most transformative of the $500 million program of capital works currently underway. The building houses state-of-the-art facilities for students and staff to enjoy now and well into the future.
